Who is Eligible for CPR / First Aid Training
The training run by Brisbane First Aid Courses is open to the general public, so there are very few restrictions on who’s allowed to take part. The only restrictions are that participants must:
Be at least 14 years of age.
Have signed consent from a parent or guardian if they are under 18.
Provide a USI number (Unique Student Identifier) registered to their name, which you can obtain from the government USI website.
Be physically capable of performing 2 minutes of CPR on a training manikin.

Although our first aid training includes CPR as part of the course, according to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, this needs to be renewed every 12 months for your certification to remain current. Fortunately, Brisbane First Aid Courses also offer the HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as a short stand-alone course – allowing you to renew your certification easily. The course is also open to newcomers – the entire first aid course isn’t required to do the training.
HLTAID011 Brisbane
The most popular option in our toolkit is our HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course. This course is a single day session that covers a wide variety of emergency medical situations and how to respond to them. Upon completing this session, you’ll have completed three different training certificates: HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (BELS), and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.

Our HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting course is optimised for teachers and childcare workers. It encompasses all the elements of our standard first aid training and includes the additional modules that workers in the education and childcare sector require – including anaphylaxis and asthma training. It’s the all-in-one first aid training package for educators.

If time is tight, and you’d struggle to attend a full day face-to-face training session, many of our courses have an online learning option. In these courses, most of the theory component of the course is delivered over the internet, allowing you to work through it at your own pace in the times you have available. While a face-to-face session is still required for training purposes, these sessions are focused on practical skills and assessments and are considerably shorter than the full face-to-face courses.
